“The purpose of a museum is to collect and preserve the works of man and nature.” ~ George Brown Goode

After spending a chilly night camping at the Ocala Drive-In Theater we headed northwest to Tallahassee to stay at another Harvest Host site. This evening we stayed at the Tallahassee Automobile & Collectibles Museum. It was two floors full of classic cars, vintage automobiles, movie prop vehicles, and other unique modes of transportation…

There were motorcycles, like Evel Kneviel’s stunt bike…

And all of Batman’s toys…

My personal favorite, a ‘66 Mustang convertible…

A one-of-a-kind Snell…

And a one-of-a-kind Ford…

But it wasn’t just vehicles! This place is filled with so many different types of collectible items! I’m talking about things like racing boats, outboard engines, canoes, typewriters, jackknives, sports memorabilia, toys, patches, pianos, fiddles, guitars, cash registers, radios, jukeboxes, statues, model cars, artwork, photos, vintage signs, tools, oil cans, and even stuffed animal heads! And there were hundreds of other collections of items that didn’t grab my attention. A person could spend an entire week here and not see everything! Here’s a few pictures of some of the other collections…

They even had Darth Vader’s personal Tie-Fighter out on the front lawn!

And even the lady camping next to us had a vintage camper!

I hope you find the opportunity to visit this unique place before you become vintage yourself.
The gam continues…
