Malibu

“If life’s a beach, then Malibu is the VIP section.” ~ Anonymous

We landed here in Malibu on April Fool’s Day, after two months in San Diego, to find this magnificent location overlooking the mighty Pacific Ocean. It’s right on the Pacific Coast Highway at the bottom of Corral Canyon, which is one of the few remaining undeveloped canyons in the area. We rejoice everyday for our good fortune at the majestic view, the abundance of nature and sunshine, and the pods of dolphins that pass by on a daily basis. Gratitude overload.

An interesting observation we’ve noticed late at night, slumbering in our bed, when the winds and the world are still, is that the trailer shakes in a rhythmic pattern, almost as if the winds are rocking us but there are no winds. It seems that when the six to eight foot waves from the ocean crash thunderously into the shoreline just a hundred feet below us it trembles the earth underneath us just enough to be felt; enough to make it feel like a blustery night. We don’t mind, of course, because the rhythm of the watery rollers helps to lull us to sleep at night.

This has been one of our favorite places to camp…so far.

I hope you get to visit Malibu once in your lifetime.

The gam continues…
