“Ho-Ho-Ho, Green Giant!” ~ Jolly Green Giant

It’s time for another gigantic statue. This one, though, isn’t as elegant as the last one, although, it still might leave you green with envy. This one is fifty-five feet tall, weighs eight thousand pounds, wears a size seventy-eight shoe, and wears a skirt made of leaves. I’m talking, of course, about the Jolly Green Giant.

It was warm and sunny here today in Blue Earth, Minnesota, but in the winter they give the Jolly Green Giant a big, red scarf to wear around his neck.

When it’s canning season for corn, peas, green beans, carrots or any other ripe vegetables the Green Giant canning facility just down the road lets the local workers know it’s time to work with a loud, booming recording of the Jolly Green Giant saying, “Ho-Ho-Ho, Green Giant!” that echoes across the town of Blue Earth.

And who could forget Sprout! 🌱

In the museum they had a plethora of Green Giant merchandise and memorabilia…
