“Every time I stand before a beautiful beach, its waves seem to whisper to me: If you choose the simple things and find joy in nature’s simple treasures, life and living need not be so hard.” ~ Psyche Roxas-Mendoza

After spending time in New England visiting family and friends, and going to my high school reunion, we headed south to our Clearwater home. The only friendly stop we made was to visit with our good friend Susie at her beautiful South Carolina home.

Our poor travel trailer had a rough ride home. Somewhere in Virginia she broke a leaf spring in the suspension, which broke off the fresh water tank spigot and completely drained our portable potable water supply. We were able to limp all the way home to Clearwater on one and a half leaf springs but we couldn’t boondock in Cracker Barrel parking lots like we had planned, settling instead for KOA campgrounds with full hook-ups for our water needs.

So now she’s parked and waiting to be repaired. Parts are on the way. Gotta’ put her up on blocks and get her ready for the next adventure!

Needless to say, we were thrilled to see our Clearwater home after being on the road for eight and a half months!

Our return is bittersweet though; the house seems sort of empty without our beloved Kodi-boy. Today is the six month anniversary of his passing. He was a special boy. đź’”

We dedicated this corner of the pantry to him. This is where we kept all of his food, treats, leashes, collars, balls and other toys, like this Moosey-Moose that we were never able to give to him. 🧸

This is also the two-year anniversary of the passing of our sweet kitty, Jewels, who departed our family the week before our first loop around the country.

On a positive note, we two humans did finally make it back to Clearwater Beach, which is only six miles down the road and is often sited in many polls as the number one beach in America.🌴

It’s good to be home!

I hope you enjoyed this long, long leg of our Great American Road Trip here on American Gam. Our next adventure will be on the high seas so stay tuned!

The gam continues…
