“Associate with men of good quality if you esteem your own reputation; for it is better to be alone than in bad company.” ~ George Washington

Thursday, after an awesome three days, I left behind The Badlands and continued on the Great American Road Trip.

“On the road again…”
The first sign of civilization (sort of…?) was the town of Scenic. It was scenic…sort of…? I bought ice at the Tatanka Trading Post were I met a couple of nice, unique, interesting people that I think worked there, or lived there…?
The local supermarket.
Indians allowed…how kind of them.
Notice the jail is next to the saloon…?
From there I headed up into Rapid City, about an hour away, and then into the Black Hills, another hour, to see…Mount Rushmore!
After getting the presidential experience I drove around and behind Mount Rushmore. A few miles down the road I conveniently found a KOA Kampground. I was able rent a cabin with electricity (for $72.), do my laundry, go for a swim in the clean, heated pool, re-organize my entire truck, bring my computer into the cabin to download about two thousand pictures and then go to the camp restaurant for Bison Meatloaf, a couple of cold Blue Moons and some hearty laughs with the employees of the restaurant. One-stop shopping!

“Swing low, Sweet Chariot.”
Bring your own linens or sleeping bags.
Sleeps five.
Nothing but Apple.
From my cabin I could see the backside of Mount Rushmore…

I hope they put Bill Clinton aka “Slick Willy” on Mount Rushmore next, right after they name him king-for-life.
The gam continues…
