“Too often. . . I would hear men boast of the miles covered that day, rarely of what they had seen.” ~ Louis L’Amour
Wednesday, at the Harley Davidson Museum, but in an adjacent building and included in the price of your museum admission fee, there was a special exhibit that’s only there for this summer. I thought this exposition, because I enjoyed it more than the Harley-Davidson Museum, deserved its own separate blog. Since I’m not a motorcycle enthusiast, I enjoyed this showcase more because I could relate to it more. This other showing is called:
The American Road.
It’s an entire exhibition dedicated to — The Great American Road Trip!
Time to get out your reading glasses!
Remember these…?
Country Squire Wagon
The road trip on two wheels, for those who know that sometimes it takes a whole tankful of fuel before you can think straight.
And for those who like to cruise Route 66 in style…
’66 Malibu
A treasure trove of other people’s road trip adventures.
Speaking of road trips…the nice couple in this van, truck, Mars rover, whatever you would call it, drove all the way from Brazil to the very most northern point of Alaska, then came back down to America and now they’re headed eastward.
For me, this gallery was the highlight of the day! 🙂
I hope you fathom that it’s all about the journey, not the destination.
The gam continues…
I remember teaching you to ride my gs 1100 in the early 80’s memorys! be safe ole buddy happy travels
